Just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks for another wonderful stay at Saltwater Sunrise last week. Your place is lovely and we thoroughly enjoy getting to visit the beach and know we have a comfortable place to stay with our dog. 
 
Since we always have such a great time, in the off chance that you all ever get last-minute cancellations that you can’t fill or aren’t able to make use of yourselves, my wife and I work from home in Durham, and can more often than not book with late notice. Amazing week!
First let me say…. they did NOT lie when they said the pool was heated…it was amazing! So many times we’ve stayed at places that say it’s heated but barely is but this week even had some chilly times (55-60) but we were still able to swim in the pool without one shiver! The whole backyard… the pool, hot tub, corn hole area… it was awesome! The house was very tidy and easy to keep up. The kitchen had everything you need and we were even able to bake a cake without issue. Easy to walk to the beach and even some cute dining options in walking distance. Oh and they have bikes! The road is the best for biking… at least before all those rentals get filled but we usually go to the area right before that happens so not sure what it’s like filled but there are some sidewalks for riding. We had the best week and this house was by far one of the best we’ve been to in the past few years!

Perfect location!
The home was perfect for myself, wife, and daughter. It was wonderful every day just looking out at the ocean and being able to walk down the deck steps and to the beach/water. The home was well equipped with all the kitchen accessories you would need. House is in a great location with easy access to grocery and shopping. If we come back to the outer banks, we will definitely be staying here again.

The place is fantastic!  What a nice 5 days on the beach at your place. Lola even liked the beach, although she’s more of a mountain trail dog. Everything was so nice, your new kitchen looked like things had hardly been used. We got home last night and boiled up some shrimp for supper that we had picked up before leaving. Nothing beats fresh shrimp from the coast!
Thanks again of having this place for us. We hope to come back next year sometime. We will be sure to contact you when we start planning.
No complaints whatsoever.
One small suggestion, though. The bathrooms need a shelf to put stuff, especially when two or more people are sharing.

We’ve stayed at BnBs on the Alabama coast, California coast and places in between as we travelled west last year, but this is our favorite one of all!

Second stay at SOTR and can’t say enough good things about it
The property is exactly as advertised, well appointed, and clean. This was my second stay here. Last month with my family and this time with my 6 girlfriends. I knew they would love it and they did! We’re going back next October! The weather turned out great and we made good use of the heated pool. My son had left a personal belonging from the last stay and the owner/host made sure to place it in the house for me. The house and the host are really over the top and exceeds expectations.

Perfect end to the summer
The property was exactly as advertised. Nicely decorated and appointed, clean and well equipped plus everything worked! Owner/host was super responsive, answered questions quickly and addressed a small issue with the house bikes immediately by having a couple of rental bikes delivered. I had everything I needed in the kitchen to make family meals and we used the second full size refrigerator for drinks and snacks. The house was cozy and we played games in the great room. The two decks were nice. You can watch the sunrise on the east deck then enjoy the shade on the west deck until noon, then switch back to the shady east deck in the evenings. The pool was the right size for our party of 6 with lots of well made seating and lounging available. We made good use of the beach gear and the outdoor shower. Having use of the washer and dryer in the utility room was nice too. The property is very dog friendly and we had our 2 dogs with us. The single set of steps up to the house level was great for old knees! One of the bathroom showers is tiny so we made the kids use that shower and they mostly opted for the outdoor shower. The house is well maintained and the owners obviously have a lot of pride of ownership. I definitely recommend. In fact, I already booked a second stay!

Just wanted to let you know that we had a lovely stay in your rental last week. It’s a great house and we so loved being able to walk off the deck right onto the beach.
 
Our only complaint is that we think the house ate two of our puzzle pieces. Emoji We brought a brand new puzzle with us and it was missing two pieces! Ugh. 
 
We’d love to stay again at Saltwater Sunrise. So when we figure out which week we can get to the beach next summer, I will be in touch.

Thank you so much! We had an great time and the house was absolutely, adorably perfect for our needs! Love the bright decor and extremely comfortable. Not to mention, it definitely helped that the weather was perfect pretty much the whole time so we lucked out this time! For most of the week the ocean was a turquoise color in parts, so calm and warm. We honestly couldn’t have picked a better week. The showers are super tiny but don’t think you can change that! Otherwise, we LOVED it and will definitely be back. 
 
Thanks again for your hospitality and flexibility in helping us have an amazing family beach trip!! Hope you guys have an awesome rest of your summer!

We have had the best time at your sweet beach house, thank you so much!! These big blue chairs on the deck totally MAKE the experience – it has added so much relaxation for us as parents of young kids to be able to watch them play in the sand while enjoying the view, ocean sounds, and a hot cup of coffee. And that coffee maker!!! Absolutely love the upgrade and now want one for my own home. 
 
I tagged your FB page on some of my pictures online, I hope you can see them. Attached are a few pics for prosperity!!
 
We would love to book again for next year! If the people who are booked for next week decide not to reserve that week again for next year, could we have that? Otherwise, we would be more than happy to keep this same week, as it’s worth missing those last few days of school if we have to!

Imagine waking up every morning to a breathtaking sunrise, followed by a peaceful barefoot stroll along a spectacular beach. Experiencing that feeling of having discovered your own private paradise. Well… This is a typical day at Saltwater Sunrise!!
We thoroughly enjoyed the coastal charm of this clean, cozy beach house. We so appreciate that this home is pet friendly!! We loved walking our dog along the beach every morning, followed by relaxing out on the deck taking in the beautiful view! The thoughtful addition of the new taller deck chairs quickly became our favorite perch. They are fitted with cup holders and the elevated height is perfect for improving views over the magnificent dunes. We would lounge on these chairs for hours while admiring the dolphins as they gracefully glide through the ocean water. WoW!! Such an amazing week of enjoying the sun, enjoying nature, and enjoying the OBX.
This location is perfect! We highly recommend you experience a stay at Saltwater Sunrise. We cherished every moment. This was our first visit, but we are already looking forward to our next. Thank you so much Maria for sharing your amazing home with us!

Amazing Every Time!

We cannot possibly say enough good things about this house and location. Everything about it is perfect. Clean, well maintained home with everything you could need for a week away. Quiet street for a nice stroll on the bikes. A quick walk brings you to a fantastic section of the beach. The back yard, pool and hot tub are simply the icing on the cake!

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great stay in the Kitty Hawk/OBX area!

An amazing stay full of memories
Salt on the Rim turned out to be just as advertised. Such a close walk to the beach. An absolutely gorgeous backyard oasis to come back to after lounging on the week. The heated pool was amazing and glad we had it. The house was just as it was in the pictures. The owners communication was excellent and provided everything that was asked. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Thanks for an amazing property where we made memories that will last a lifetime.

(and the pool crew came twice to check everything and share some local fishing tips and restaurant ideas).

Our family stayed at Salt on the rim for Thanksgiving weekend. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our stay so much! I would definitely recommend staying at this home! We loved the hot tub it was so relaxing. We loved how close the house was to the beach. We were able to walk down there and catch a few sunrises. It is so beautiful in Kitty Hawk and staying at Salt on the Rim made our week special. We had no problems at all. Mike and Maria were wonderful hosts and made everything so easy. Thank you for sharing your house with us! This was our first time going to the outer banks for Thanksgiving and it was our best one yet!

This was the most ideal place for our family vacation. With seven of us we needed space, privacy, and luxury and we got all of that and more!
 
The location was ideal. A block from the beach and a block from the main drag to get to anything we needed.
 
The Salt on the Rim house was built perfectly for our needs. With a great room for lounging and dining and a roomy kitchen (stocked with every utensil you could imagine) we found the communal space very nice. Then on each corner was a bedroom with two shared bathrooms. All of the TV’s were set up well for this streaming family to login to their favorite shows at night. Never had a problem with wifi. So, all the things that you notice when they aren’t working, worked with ease.
 
The pool was a dream. Beautifully designed with a hot tub, plenty of lounge space including a covered area for shade time. A strip of turf for cornhole or throwing the ball around. We lived here. This was our sunny space.
 
The extras in the storage room were awesome. Beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, pool toys, noodles, inflatables, the list goes on. There were also two bikes that allowed for a morning ride for us every day.
 
Communication with the owners was top notch. They didn’t miss a beat.
Honestly, cannot recommend this rental more highly.

This is a fabulous immaculate beach house with thoughtful amenities. The beach is a super quick walk and owners have provided a beach buggy for easy transport of your chairs/drinks/umbrella. Once you are tired of the sand relax on the patio or pool deck and enjoy the beautiful new pool or hot tub. A wonderfully pleasing space to enjoy the outdoors even after dark with the mood boosting party lights. Tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and nice layout giving two small families a little privacy since there are two bedrooms on each side of the house with the common area in the middle. Lots of deck space where you can enjoy the sunrise or sunset! Owners are very responsive and invested in your great experience. Highly recommend this property!

Great Spot in Kitty Hawk (SOTR)
This house was perfect for our two families of four. The backyard is amazing with a very nice pool, hot tub and a little astro turf lane for some outdoor games. Very close to beach access and lots of extra goodies provided to ease your stay. Highly recommend staying here!

Everything was as described. Location was a block from the beach which we went to almost every day. The beach chairs, umbrella and especially beach wagon were a great unexpected addition. Even got out on the bicycles a couple of times. The pool was refreshing, the hot tub nice a warm for the rain day. Enjoyed playing cornhole. Basically we had a wonderful relaxing time.

4 ladies & 2 labs had a fantastic stay here in early July. Everything the owners say about the place – location, amenities, cleanliness, etc. – is 100% accurate! The kitchen was beyond well-equipped & had everything you could need. Example: can openers, kitchen scissors. Location was on a nice quiet street w sidewalks so easy to walk or use bikes provided. The beach cart with fat tires made taking chairs, umbrella etc to the beach so easy. Very clean, well maintained. The new pool, hot tub and pool area was delightful & we spent lots of time there, when not at beach. Beautifully decorated, we all loved the mattresses. Highly recommend renting this house & the owners were easy to communicate with.

From the time of booking, communication was excellent. After months of waiting the date was finally upon us… checking in was a breeze. Breathtaking views, location is at the center of everything. The home is immaculate and VERY well maintained. All kitchen items run smooth and home is well stocked with basically everything you’ll need utensils and glasses/silverware wise. I personally loved the little signs and touches of decor in the beach house. I could go on and on with how amazing this week was but you’ll have to see for yourself. Thank you for a memorable week for myself and my family.

Saltwater Sunrise is a spectacular property. You will not find any location that provides close proximity to the ocean waves than this property! Every aspect of the home is as indicated in the listing. This home was the cleanest, most well appointed him that we have ever used. Waking up the first morning, the high tide waves were exciting to see close up. Inside, this place has everything going for it. Very clean and well appointed. Each room has what’s needed for comfort and relaxation, as well as beautiful beachy decor. Communication with Maria was excellent. She gave her all to help us solve an issue with our pet. Great location near restaurants. This home and neighborhood gave us wonderful memories of our first visit to the outer banks.

Don’t wait….Book today and I promise you will LOVE this amazing house! I’ve booked many “oceanfront” houses but, in reality, they should have been called “dune front.” Saltwater Sunrise is truly oceanfront as you can see the ocean while sitting on the living room couch or while eating at the dining room table or even while doing the dishes!! I love to cook so we eat most of our meals at the house and this kitchen is loaded. The gate on the deck was perfect so we didn’t have to worry about our sweet dog and they even have a foot wash on the deck to clean our sandy toes after walking on the beach. The beds were very comfortable which is usually another issue we have at rentals. This house was also perfectly clean and we really loved the decor. Thank you for sharing your amazing house with us!!

Perfect Week! (SS)

Even though the weather was cold and windy, we enjoyed the deck right on the beach to hear the surf. Plenty of walks on the beach! The house was clean and very cozy with a comfortable sectional and the fireplace added a nice touch. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking in and the large windows gave postcard views of the beach and water. Would definitely stay again no matter what season

Ringing in the New Year (SS)
 
Our family decided to take a short trip to the Outerbanks to get away for New Year’s. We had never used VRBO, so we were a little nervous regarding the communication aspect. Come to find out, there was no need to worry. Mike and Maria went above and beyond with not only communication, but how meticulously clean their home was upon arrival. We have stayed at numerous oceanfront cottages through other rental companies, but we have never stayed at a cottage like Saltwater Sunrise, where you could look at the ocean through pristine clear windows. There was no evidence of caked up saltwater, rust, etc. on the exterior, sliding door, or windows. In other cottages where we’ve stayed, this was definitely not the norm. All of the thoughtful additions, like a basket of flashlights for nighttime beach exploring near the sliding door, a dog brush to help with the sand, and many more were also much appreciated. We immensely enjoyed our stay and would 100% book with Mike and Maria again!

Escaping the Pandemic
 
My husband and I (along with our two golden retrievers) decided we needed a change of scenery after 9 months of working from home during COVID times, so we headed south to the spectacular Saltwater Sunrise. The pictures do not do this place justice. There is a wide open view of the ocean for as far as the eye can see. You sit on the deck and watch a daily parade of dolphins, pelicans and even humpback whales migrating south. We arrived to a surprise from our amazing hosts, Mike & Maria. A box of all of the makings for a sunrise mimosa, including two Saltwater Sunrise glasses! From the minute we booked until after we left, Maria was so attentive and responsive with suggestions and recommendations. The house has all of the amenities plus a few thoughtful touches, like flashlights in case you want to walk on the beach at night. There was an Apple TV and strong wi-fi connection from every room. We really needed an escape from both the New England winter and the claustrophophia of the pandemic and this was just the ticket. The constant sound of the waves crashing was as soothing as the view. I swear I took the same picture over and over and it looked different every time, depending on the time of day, the lighting and the tide. We really cannot recommend Saltwater Sunrise highly enough. If there was a 6th star, I would have picked that!

Amazing Place!!
We had an amazing stay at the Saltwater Sunrise! The location was as good as it gets…..steps to the ocean. The house was immaculate and the owners were incredibly responsive and generous. 5 star rating in my book!

Paradise
When we arrived..house was super clean, super cute. Everything that we needed was at our fingertips…so thoughtful. King bed was just like ours at home..slept like a rock. View was perfect. Sofa so comfortable..we brought our pet sofa covers from home..worked so well. New TVs. Great selection of cookware…I could go on and on. We could feel that someone really loved the house. Thank you for allowing us to stay. 🐾❤️

Beautiful, Clean, Perfectly located!
Very relaxing, we felt like we had our own private beach, we enjoyed watching the sunrise from the deck with our morning cup of coffee. The cottage had everything you needed and was comfortable & spotless! You could tell that the owners treasure it by how clean and beautiful it is! Highly recommend staying here.

Simply Glorious!

This amazing beach cottage is even better than pictures can show or words can describe. After working in healthcare during COVID and not have a real get away vacation for too long because of restrictions this place is just what the doctor ordered! The ocean views are breathtaking and even though I’m typically not up early on vacation couldn’t help myself and had to be up for the gorgeous sunrise each morning. A few hours on the deck just looking and listening to the ocean washed the stress away and was sooooo relaxing! The house is adorable and so well maintained. Came loaded with things we never used but all the extras were appreciated!Superb location with great access to anything you’d need for an amazing week away! Can’t wait to go again next year!

I wish we could stay forever!
Everything went smoothly from reserving to checkout. The property was perfect for us. Staying right on the beach was a wonderful experience and the sunrises were amazing! The house was very clean, just as pictured, and the owners were responsive.

Simply Paradise at Saltwater Sunrise
Our family of six had never been to NC before, and after searching for houses, we la fed on Saltwater Sunrise. We booked as quickly as we could and counted down the days until we arrived. The house was simply just as promised on the listing and on social media. We were pleasantly surprised at how updated the house was and location was everything. The owners were very easy to communicate with as well as very thoughtful and sweet with leaving gifts for us and giving us some pointers while at the beach. From sunrises in the morning to ghost crabs at dusk, this property was perfect for our family. We will definitely be back as soon as our schedule allows.

Million dollar view
Property owners were AMAZING and very easy to work with. The beach house met/exceeded all of our expectations!!! Location was perfect(literally close to everything we wanted to do/see.) all with a million dollar view!!! Such a wonderful vacation

Beautiful ocean front views!
A wonderful experience watching sunrises and sunsets with an ocean front view! The ocean was right at our front door… we enjoyed family walks along the beach. In addition to relaxing, we also visited the Wrights Brothers Memorial and a wild horse tour in Corolla. The beach house is cutely decorated with all the amenities one needs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Saltwater Sunrise
This property is wonderful. It located right on the beach and the view was amazing. The house was clean and had everything we need to spend the week. It is close to grocery shops and a short drive to major sightseeing places. We will definitely consider going back.

Saltwater Sunrise is an amazing home! The location is perfect. Sunrise every morning, even if it’s a little cloudy, is superb. This home is steps from being right on the beach. The hosts are accommodating, friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. Can’t wait for my 2nd visit to Saltwater Sunrise.
