Dogs are welcome with the following guidelines. Please note that not all our guests bring dogs. In order for us to keep our properties dog friendly, please be respectful of our home and our neighbors.

  • At Salt on the Rim, Dogs are NOT ALLOWED in the POOL or Hot Tub. Hefty Fines by the Pool Cleaning Team will be collected if this rule is violated.
  • Clean up after your pet inside and outside the house. At Salt on the Rim, the side yard is ideal for potty breaks. All poop must be discarded immediately. Use poop bags and dispose of them in the super cans. The beach and neighboring properties must also be picked up.  Poop Bags and trash cans are located at beach access entrances for your convenience.
  • For Salt on the Rim guests, the Turf is not to be used as a Potty Spot. Please use the convenient pool side gate to the side yard. Pick up and dispose of any wastes in the outside supercans.
  • Dogs are to be kept off the beds and furniture.
  • Provide plenty of water and shade. Remember if the ground and sand is too hot for your bare feet, it is too hot for paws. Be aware that the Turf and concrete can become extremely hot.
  • Do not leave your dog unattended or locked up in the house or decks or in the pool area. If they are unattended in the home, they must be crated. We can provide dog walker, dog sitter and kennel recommendations if needed.
  • Dogs are allowed on Kitty Hawk beaches. Please respect Kitty Hawk Leash Laws
  • Many areas on the OBX are dog friendly. Let Fido have a fun vacation with you.
  • NO PET FEE 2 Dog Limit. Pet Fee will be assessed for flea infestation, damage to home or property by dogs, or other violations such as allowing dogs in the pool. Guests are financially responsible for their dogs and their behaviors

Dogs are Welcome

Chelsie

RIP 2009-July 1, 2023

I’m a Brown Lab Mix who was saved from death row in a shelter in Mississippi by a fantastic Rescue Group. I met my new family in a motel parking lot after they waited for me to drive up in a big tractor trailer with my other rescued friends. I am the silliest senior brown dog who doesn’t act my age. I am blessed my family lets me come to the OBX every time they do. I love running on the sand but I don’t like to swim.

Dogs are Welcome

Layla

I’m a Black Lab Mix with 1.5 ears and a funky toe. My original owners re-homed me for unknown reasons. Although I was sad and confused at first, I am happy to report that my new family has given me the best life and love ever! My favorite thing in the world, next to snacks,  is running on the beach and talking to everyone that walks near me!

Dogs are Welcome

Lucy

I’m Lucy! My family saved me from a city shelter where my owner surrendered me. I was quite a hot mess after years of neglect but my parents nursed me back to health. I am now blind and deaf but that doesn’t keep me from enjoying the sun’s warmth and the smell of the salt air! I’m the Diva of the house and I love it!
